2. Watch a Classic Movie at the Melrose Rooftop Theater

Usually open during summer months, the Melrose Rooftop Theater offers a great atmosphere to watch a movie with your date, friends and family. Make sure to hangout by the rooftop bar next to it and have a drink. They have 5-7pm happy hour with $5 cocktails and snacks!

3. Read and Geek Out on Comic Books at the Mega City One

Where: 7301 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046
When: Monday to Saturday 11am-10pm; Sunday 11am-8pm

This comic book store encourages you to sit down and read a book by their table. You have a variety of choices of superhero comic books. Btw, it is air conditioned! You might not think that’s a big deal, but we were very thankful to just chill in there before getting out again to the LA heat.

4. Find the Secret Bar inside the Glass Hookah Lounge

Where: 7384 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046
When:  Everyday 7pm-2am

The Glass Hookah Lounge is, indeed, a great hookah spot. You can loosen up outside with your friends or lounge inside with their dive egg chairs. However, not a lot of people realize that there is a speakeasy bar inside as well. Behind a “bookshelf” is an opening to an awesome not-so-secret-anymore bar called Melrose Station.

5. Wander Around for Wall Art for Photo Ops

The Instagram-worthy (Yup! I said it.) walls are what drives a lot of people here to get some good content and photographs. Walk around the center of Melrose Avenue and you’ll find some wall arts everywhere.

6. Decorate your Own Cake at Duff’s Cakemix

It was a super fun experience to do this with friends. They don’t come in cheap, though, but it’s also a great gift to give to someone since we put in our hard work. Three of us designed a cake and the total was $72 for that cake haha.

7. Explore the Melrose Trading Post Flea Market

This flea market is only open every Sunday and it is by the Fairfax High school. There is an entrance fee of $5,which would be donated to Fairfax High. They have live music at the food court. You can relax by the grass and enjoy your food while listening to the music. Also, lots of great vintage finds so take your time exploring each booth.

8. Check if there’s a Pop Up Diner at the Old Johnny Rockets

Where: 7505 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046

From time to time, you’d see a pop up diner at the corner of Gardner Street and Melrose Avenue. The photo above had the theme of 90s hit show “Beverly Hills 90210” by bringing “Peach Pit” to life. Photos of the cast were displayed everywhere. Back in the 80s, this diner used to be where the first ever Johnny Rockets restaurant was located at. Now, we have lots of pop ups going on here. There are times when there are huge lines out there to get in and there are good chances of celebrities coming out on the ‘opening night’. Sometimes, they would charge you $20-$25 per person to reserve your seat.

9. Shop Around For Festival Outfits

I, myself, have been coming here to Melrose a lot to shop for my Coachella outfits. They have boho styles and they would have the perfect Burning Man outfits as well. They have a huge variety from modest to extremely wild outfits to help you stand out when you go out.

10. Check Out the Massive Collection of Vinyl at The Record Collector
