1. Go Horseback Riding with Malibu Riders

Location: 2903 Cornell Rd, Agoura Hills, CA 91301Envision yourself saddled atop a noble steed, exploring the same trails where countless movies have been filmed at Paramount Ranch. As you journey through the magnificent fields, bathed in sunlight and echoing with the tranquil sounds of nature, you’ll encounter a cool stream surrounded by trees. You’ll watch as your horses playfully splashes water around, an enchanting moment that you’ll treasure forever. Definitely book your ride now to experience this journey.

Before 2018, you would usually see western-style buildings for the movie set but due to the Woolsey fire, you won’t be seeing the western set for now. Our guide said that the National Park service is rebuilding it and hoping to see it back in 2024. Regardless of the missing western-style set, the horseback riding experience was nothing short of extraordinary and thoroughly enjoyable.

Stage Coach Inn Museum Conejo Valley California

5. Stagecoach Inn Museum: Step into History

Price: $10
Location: 51 S Ventu Park Rd, Newbury Park, CA 91320

History enthusiasts, this one’s for you! The Stage Coach Inn Museum offers fascinating insights into life in the late 1800s. Do note that it’s open only on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 1-4 pm.

On a day when the museum was not open, I had the unique experience of watching a local play named ‘Voices of Old Conejo’, enacted by the town’s residents. This delightful introduction to the town’s culture was reminiscent of the close-knit community depicted in the TV series ‘Gilmore Girls’ – ‘Stars Hollow’, where townsfolk actively participate in local events.

That’s a glimpse into my day trip to Conejo Valley, but there’s so much more waiting to be discovered. If you’re seeking a break from the city’s hustle, then it’s time to pack your bags or plan a road trip to Conejo Valley. Your adventure awaits!
