Picturesque Rooftop
Rooftop movie theaters are just perfect for everyone! Bring your friends, date or family here and enjoy this unique movie experience.
I was super stoked about this rooftop movie spot in Los Angeles because I knew it would be so picturesque. It is next to high buildings in a city full of lights. This is exactly what I live for!
You can see the vintage neon sign of The Broadway Hollywood from your seat. In case you didn’t know, The Broadway Hollywood used to be a huge department store back in the 1930s which now turned into a prominent historic 96-loft building.
The Montalban Theatre features a mixture of some classic movies and recent ones too. Once you arrive, the staff will hand out blankets and wireless headphones for you to borrow. It does get chilly at night so maybe bring a jacket too just incase.
Drinks, Food, Games!
The movie starts just after sunset, which usually is around 8:15pm. However, I would suggest to still go early so you get to have some drinks, food, play games and socialize before the movie starts. Unfortunately, you can’t bring outside food and drinks.
After all, you didn’t just pay for the movie but for the experience, right? I, actually, arrived there when the doors opened which was at 6pm. Ha! Punctual boss here! Also this way, you can save your seat based on your preference because it is a general seating area.
Thanks to the bar, I got myself a juicy Michelada while my friend had a Margarita. So, yes! The have booze! There’s wine, beer and some cocktails!
For the food, they have burgers, fries, popcorn and candies. Yum! For games, they have a giant Jenga and a few giant Connect 4 games on the side. Apparently, they sometimes have live performances going on too, but there wasn’t any when were there.
What if it Rains in the middle of the Movie?
It was drizzling when we arrived. The staff gave away some disposable raincoats. The announcer did say that if it will start pouring. Then we would continue the movie at the groundfloor which will be indoors. Thank god that didn’t happen!
So grab your popcorns and enjoy the movie! Can’t wait for all of you to experience this <3
