I mean, everyone should know about the famous Taj Mahal and the love story behind this exquisite marble building. It’s not surprising at all that it has been voted as one of the 7 Wonders of the world.

All the gates opened around 6:20am when we were there. If you want to try to beat the crowd, buy your tickets online and start lining up the gate by 6am. It is a bit cheaper and more convenient to buy online as there is a separate line for buying tickets and entering the gate.

Tip: Try to bring some shoe covers or socks that you don’t care to get dirty because you’ll be asked to take off your shoes when entering Taj Mahal. I had to walk barefoot haha.

2. Hawa Mahal, Jaipur Rajasthan

Jaipur is known as the “Pink City” and you have Hawa Mahal to prove that. Hawa Mahal is a gorgeous pink palace in the center of Jaipur that is full of windows where the Royal ladies back then would be able to use to look at the outside world without being seen by the public.

If you have time for some coffee, make sure to go to Tattoo Café & Lounge so that you can sip with Hawa Mahal right infront of you.

3. Nahargarh Fort

If you are wondering where to watch the sunset while you are on your trip in India. Well, Nahargarh Fort is the perfect place to be. You can see the whole city from above and it would be a gorgeous view to watch the sunset from above.

4. Panna Meena ka Kund, Jaipur Rajasthan

Address: Amer, Rajasthan 302028, India

Panaa Meena Ka Kund is an ancient stepwell with these aesthetic symmetrical steps leading to collected rainwater which was used back then for water source, bathing, washing clothes and social gathering for women.

Unfortunately, it is now prohibited to walk on the steps now. BUT… If you go early enough when there is no one around, the guard will allow you to go down if you tip him. (Yup, it’s all about bribing and negotiating in India sometimes haha) I wasn’t aware of that before so I wasn’t able to get down those stairs lol. I’m kind of bummed about that! Also, the step well is close to Amer Fort so make both trips on the same day.

5. Amer Fort, Near Jaipur in Rajasthan

Amer Fort is a must visit! If you only have one day in Jaipur, then make sure to come your way here. Trust me! This fort or palace feels like it came straight out of a movie. It definitely gave me some ‘Game of Thrones’ vibe while I walked around.

This elevated stone fort can be seen from all over Jaipur. It is easily one of the most well-known forts of India and the inside just looks as amazing as its outside so it worth paying those rupees. One of the locals said that it was painted 400 years ago and was never repainted again. It is still in such a great condition and it has such beautiful architecture that could have you spending hours exploring the place.

6. City Palace, Jaipur

The City Palace has its own charm and I have to say that ‘The Blue Room’ is my favorite part. It looks like entering a real life doll house with the pretty saturated blue and white colors that stand out.

Make sure to have atleast one to two hours to explore the palace. It will show the room as well where Princess Diana stayed when she visited.

7. Patrika Gate

Address: Patrika Gate, JLN Road, Jawahar Circle, Jaipur, Rajasthan 302018, India

If there is one place that we can actually call “instagrammable” in India, it would be the Patrika gate. This multi colored archway inside is the most photogenic as it colors are pe.

It’s very close to the Jaipur International Airport (JAI) so try to pass by when you arrive to immediately check it off your list.

8. Albert Hall Museum

Address: Museum Rd, Ram Niwas Garden, Kailash Puri, Adarsh Nagar, Jaipur, Rajasthan 302004, India

Apparently, there are mummies inside which is the only main attraction and reason to go inside.

Other than that, outside looks cool too! The museum looks historic and there are always hundreds of pigeons wandering around. I’d have fun just running towards them and watch them fly in sync.

9. Gadsisar Sagar Lake, Jaisalmer

Address: Postal Colony, Near Tilon Ki Gate, Near Jaisalmer Fort, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, 345001, India

Gadsisar Sagar Lake is another great location to watch the beautiful sunset.

If you are in search of a calm and peaceful environment, you may want to spend your time walking around here. It is a refreshing time away from the busy city and is randomly located in the middle of the dry desert.

To have an even better experience, try the boat rides for the view and feed the fish. People recommend to ride the boats here during sunset or evening time. There is no entry fee but you’ll have to pay about 100-300 rupees for a boat ride, which will be worth it! It’s also popular for Bollywood movies and music videos being shot here for its beauty.

10. The Agrasen Ki Boli, New Delhi

Address: Hailey Road, KG Marg, near Diwanchand Imaging Centre, New Delhi, Delhi 110001, India

The Agrasen Ki Boli is not as famous as other structures but this has its unique architecture. It’s like walking into a movie scene in the olden days.

It has an ancient stepwell worth visiting, which was built by the king Agrasen.

It’s only walking distance from Connaught place and apparently, it is free to get in! So there is nothing to stop you!
