There are tons of fun things to do in Los Angeles and who doesn’t love a good movie time with your favorite people! Whether you are into watching classic movies or current movies, you may want to check out these special movie experiences in LA.
These are some creative and cheap date night ideas so take your date, family or friends to the most unique outdoor movie theaters in Los Angeles. This includes a rooftop movie, a drive-in movie and a cemetery movie. Enjoy!
1. Melrose Rooftop Theatre
Where: 603 N La Cienega Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069
When: April to August
How Much: $27.50 General Admision; $65 VIP with Dinner

Tip: 5-7pm is happy hour if you want to have some $5 cocktails and snacks before watching the movie.
2. Montalban Hollywood Theatre
Where: 1615 Vine St. Los Angeles, CA 90028 (Their company has different locations, but Hollywood is my favorite location)
When: April to July (from what I see!)
How Much: $18 General Admission; $50 Loveseat

Tip: Bathroom break! The bathroom is on the ground floor so better go when you arrive because it’s a long walk back up.
3. Street Food Cinema DTLA
Where: 1617 Colorado Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90041
(The have different locations all over Los Angeles, but the Exposition Park at Downtown Los Angeles is my favorite location)
When: April to October
How Much: $18 General Admission; $22 Reserved Section

Tip: This is a dog-friendly event so bring your dogs. Also, bring your picnic baskets for your booze and food.
4. Vineland Drive-In Cinema
Where: 443 Vineland Ave, Industry, CA 91746
When: Everyday
How Much: $10

Tip: To hear the sound of the movie, you’ll need to use your car radio or a portable radio. You can rent a radio for $10 at the snack bar. We moved our car next to a car with a loud speaker to listen through theirs.
5. Cinespia (Hollywood Forever Cemetery)
Where: 6000 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90038
When: Almost every month there are 4-10 movies
(Sometimes they skip a month or two with no movies)

Tip: Buy tickets early online! The Cinespia movie events are more popular than I thought. That being said, arrive before they even open the doors if you want a good spot. Don’t bother getting the $20 Hollywood Forever Cemetery parking. It’s expensive and it takes forever to park. Also, bring your picnic baskets and blankets here too!
