Finding the best travel vlogging video camera for your Youtube channel can be a challenge! An easy-to-carry camera would be convenient for your trip but you would also want a camera that can deliver amazing content for your creation with high quality videos. 

Whether this is for your hobby or if you take it more seriously as a photographer or content creator, the type of content you deliver is more important than what kind of camera you are using. However, it does help getting a camera that fits you and the style of film that you want to produce.

1. Canon G7x Mark II – $629

A lot of vloggers have been raving about the Cannon G7x Mark II. This is your perfect compact camera that is easy and simple to use as it performs perfectly on auto mode. The camera has flip screen to help when you self-record with great 1080p video quality. This biggest pro for this camera is that it performs amazing with low lighting capability. To focus on an object, you can simply touch/tap the object the screen just like what you do with your iPhone.

Pros:

Cons:

• Not 4k 
• Lens is fixed – You can’t buy another lens 
• No external mic adaptor. You’ll have to use the mic on the camera (however, the mic is great)
• Battery could be better if longer life (recommended to purchase another battery just incase)

2. Fujifilm X-T3 – $1,299

If you want to step up your game and have a beautiful cinematic film video, you’ll want to shoot with the Fuji Film X-T3. This camera offers sharp high performance 4k video quality with a more accurate and fast autofocus. It shoots with 60 frames per second with its large EVF so that you’re not going to lose sight of your subject. The X-T3 works great with low lighting and can attain a beautiful retro look. The gorgeous colorful profiles makes it easy to edit and color grade afterwards. You can customize the settings based on your style so that you won’t have to keep doing it repeatedly to make your workflow easier.

Pros:

• Sharp video quality – shoots 4k
• 60 frames per second
• More accurate and fast autofocus
• Works well with low lighting
• Touch screen

Cons:

• Battery life is not so good. Expect to charge battery every 2 days or just buy an extra pack.
• Lack in-body image stabilization
• No built-in flash

3. Sony a6600 – $1,398

The Sony a6600 is proud for their advanced autofocus tracking that can keep the subject focused even when they turn their backs on the camera. It has a great video quality that features 24MP of resolution, 11 frames per second and 4K video capture. This one finally has a great battery life which is hard to find these days. Compared to Sony Alpha’s previous models, this one has external microphone and headphone ports which can be useful if you want to use your own professional mic when taping. It also is great with low lighting and creates beautiful saturated colors.

• Long battery life

• Amazing grip with bigger lenses

• Small body makes it hard to push buttons precisely

4. Canon M50 – $649

 

Here is the Canon M50 which is an affordable camera that offers great value as it has most of the same features as the expensive ones. It can create a cinematic look with natural colors and offers great quality to the details in your captures. The dual pixel autofocus is very accurate on 1080p mode with 60fps. The only downside of this camera is the 4k mode as it doesn’t’ feature the dual pixel autofocus and it crops the video to 1.6x. If you specifically want to shoot with 4k videos, then this camera may not be for you. It also has a rotating touch screen for the vloggers and an external audio jack for those who want to use their own mic.

Pros:

• Affordable with great value
• Has image stabilization
• Quality is good
• Compact & lightweight
• great with slow motion and time lapse on 720p (at 12fps)
• Rotatable touch screen

Cons:

• 4k mode – 1.6x crop and poor autofocus
• There is no 1080p slow motion at 120 fps
• Battery life is not the best but it’s common for these types of cameras
